Israel’s Ministry of Health has removed Kenya and Rwanda from its list of countries subject to temporary Ebola-related entry restrictions.
The decision follows a review of the Ebola situation in East Africa and reflects confidence in the preventive and surveillance measures implemented by both countries to safeguard public health.
The restrictions had been introduced as a precautionary measure amid concerns over the potential cross-border spread of the Ebola virus. Travelers from affected countries were required to comply with additional entry protocols.
Despite lifting restrictions on Kenya and Rwanda, Israel has maintained the measures for several countries that continue to be considered at higher risk, including Uganda, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The move is expected to ease travel and strengthen business, tourism, and diplomatic exchanges between Israel and the two East African nations.
Health authorities have emphasized that they will continue to closely monitor developments related to Ebola and other infectious diseases while ensuring the safety of international travel.
