Rwanda Establishes First-Ever Diplomatic Mission in Spain

Rwanda has formally established its first-ever diplomatic mission in Spain, marking a new chapter in relations between the two countries.

On Friday, Ambassador Christine Nkulikiyinka presented copies of her Letters of Credence to Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation in Madrid.

The presentation formally marks the establishment of Rwanda’s first diplomatic mission in the Kingdom of Spain, strengthening the country’s diplomatic presence in Europe.

The new mission is expected to provide a dedicated platform to advance bilateral relations, including political engagement, trade and investment, tourism, education, and cooperation between Rwanda and Spain.

The move also comes as Rwanda continues to expand its diplomatic representation and economic partnerships internationally, seeking to strengthen ties with European countries and institutions.

The mission’s establishment gives Rwanda a permanent diplomatic presence in Spain and provides a channel for deeper engagement between the two governments and their institutions.
