Rwanda’s RSSB Tigers have advanced to the semi-finals of the 2026 FIBA Intercontinental Cup in Beijing after finishing second in Group A.
The African champions secured their place in the knockout stage after Rytas Vilnius defeated hosts Shanghai Sharks 107-66 on Tuesday to finish top of the group with a 2-0 record.
The Tigers opened their campaign with a defeat to Rytas but kept their tournament hopes alive with a dramatic 117-115 overtime victory over Shanghai Sharks, overturning a 19-point deficit in front of the home crowd.
The comeback proved decisive as the Tigers secured second place in the group and a place in the semi-finals.
RSSB Tigers will now face the winner of the Group B meeting between Argentina’s Boca Juniors and NBA G League United.
The semi-final represents another major test for the Rwandan side as it competes against leading club teams from different basketball regions at the global tournament.
