A fire broke out at GOICO Plaza, described as the largest market in Musanze District, Rwanda, on Saturday afternoon, spreading across all five floors of the building by 6 p.m.
Eyewitnesses said the fire started on the second floor at around 4 p.m. Videos circulating online showed flames and thick smoke rising from the building as the blaze spread across the floors and rooftop.
The Rwanda National Police Fire and Rescue Brigade responded to the scene to contain the fire. However, the blaze remained active as of 10 p.m.
No casualties had been reported by the time of publication.
