Basketball Africa League (BAL) Most Valuable Player Craig Randall II has joined Roc Nation Sports, marking a major new step in his career after a record-breaking season with Rwanda’s RSSB Tigers.
Roc Nation Sports confirmed the move in a social media post welcoming Randall to its roster, saying: “Welcome to the Roc Fam, Craig Randall.”
The announcement comes just months after Randall helped the RSSB Tigers make history by winning Rwanda’s first-ever BAL championship, defeating Angola’s Petro de Luanda 90–88 in the final.
Randall was named the 2026 BAL MVP after leading the league in scoring, averaging about 36 points per game. He also earned a place on the All-BAL First Team alongside Childe Dundao of Petro de Luanda, Donovan Williams and Majok Deng of Al Ahly Libya, and his RSSB Tigers teammate Mangok Mathiang.
The American shooting guard produced one of the most remarkable individual performances in BAL history during the season, scoring a record 54 points against Tanzania’s Dar City while making a league-record 11 three-pointers.
Randall also scored 33 points in the championship game, helping the Tigers overcome Petro de Luanda and complete a historic run on home soil.
From Rwanda to Roc Nation
The move places Randall under the representation of Roc Nation Sports, the athlete-management division of Roc Nation, the entertainment company founded by music mogul Jay-Z.
Roc Nation Sports operates across sports and entertainment, combining athlete representation with brand development, endorsements, media opportunities and commercial partnerships.
For Randall, the partnership comes after a season that dramatically raised his profile on the international basketball scene.
He arrived in Rwanda as a talented American guard but emerged as one of the defining players of the 2026 BAL season. His performances helped turn the RSSB Tigers into continental champions while making him one of the most recognizable players in African basketball.
The significance of his breakthrough was further highlighted after the championship, when Randall revealed that he had considered giving up on basketball just months before lifting the BAL trophy. His transformation from contemplating his future to becoming an African champion and league MVP became one of the defining stories of the Tigers’ title run.
Randall’s new relationship with Roc Nation Sports could now open another chapter in his professional career, with the agency positioned to help develop his profile beyond the BAL and into broader international basketball and commercial opportunities.
For Rwanda’s basketball community, his move also represents another international milestone following a season in which a Rwandan club reached the top of African basketball for the first time.
