RSSB Tigers Basketball Club have become the first team to qualify for the 2026 Basketball Africa League Playoffs, securing their place in the final stage set to take place in Kigali.
Their qualification is particularly remarkable as the team joined the competition at the last minute, stepping in to represent Rwanda after APR Basketball Club withdrew from the tournament.
Despite the late entry, the Tigers delivered a strong performance to book an early playoff spot, underlining their resilience and growing stature in African basketball. The playoffs in Kigali are expected to attract top teams from across the continent, further cementing Rwanda’s position as a key hub for the sport.
