Rwanda’s football federation, FERWAFA, has named the Under-17 national team that will travel to Ethiopia for the CECAFA U17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The 20-player list features a mix of promising talents across all positions, with Don Divin Irakaza, Jacques Habimana, and Prince Gedeon Inezaye selected as goalkeepers.
In defence, Muhudi Niyonzima, Khalifa Shyaka, Pacifique Niyompano, Emmanuel Gisubizo, Fred Ishimwe, Judah Fisher Anderson, and Cyusa Lanny Mukiza will anchor the backline.
The midfield department includes Gustave Karibu, Patrick Gisubizo, Norbet Micomyiza, Sharif Ntwali, Jean Claude Dushime, and Joseph Musabimana.
Upfront, Rwanda will rely on the attacking options of Elyse Kwihangana, Daniel Mugunga, Remy Bienfaiteur Uwizeye, Patrick Iradukunda, Olivier Nshimiyimana, Didier Bizimana Umugiraneza, Bagabo Enzo, and Jayden Shema Heylen.
The team will be led by Head Coach Sosthene Habimana.
The CECAFA U17 qualifiers serve as the regional pathway to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) U17 tournament, with the top teams earning a place at the continental competition.
