Invest Africa CEO Chantelé Carrington Joins ACG Board to Boost Sports Investment Across Africa

The appointment aims to strengthen links between bankable sports and entertainment district projects and international investors.

African Collaborations Group (ACG) has appointed Chantelé Carrington, CEO of Invest Africa, to its Advisory Board, seeking to strengthen investment pathways for large-scale sports and entertainment infrastructure projects across the continent.

Carrington, who became CEO of Invest Africa in January 2024, brings more than 20 years of experience in financial services, investment advisory and cross-border capital mobilisation. She previously held senior leadership roles at PwC, including overseeing international markets and supporting the UK-Africa business relationship.

ACG said Carrington’s experience and network would help connect its proposed Victory District™ projects with private equity firms, institutional investors and development finance institutions capable of financing large-scale developments.

“Chantelé brings to our Advisory Board the one thing that every infrastructure origination platform ultimately needs: access to the investor community,” said ACG Founder and Executive Chairman Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard.

Invest Africa connects businesses and investors through market intelligence, events, trade missions and consulting services. Carrington also serves on the UK Government’s Africa Investor Group and has held several board and advisory positions.

ACG focuses on developing financially sustainable, mixed-use sports and entertainment districts by bringing together governments, investors, sports organisations, developers and infrastructure partners.

The group says Africa’s sports economy could reach $20 billion by 2035, but argues that the continent needs more integrated district developments to support the sector’s growth. Its model seeks to move beyond individual stadiums towards broader ecosystems combining sports, entertainment and other revenue-generating activities.
