Rwanda and Cambodia have taken a significant step in strengthening their diplomatic and cultural ties, following a high-level meeting on November 18 between Prime Minister Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva and H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia.
During the meeting, Rwanda and Cambodia signed two significant agreements:
— A Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Consultations
— A Visa Exemption Agreement for holders of Diplomatic and Service Passports
The leaders also discussed Cambodia’s role in the recently held 46th Ministerial Conference of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) in Kigali, where Cambodia was elected to lead the organization.
Prime Minister Nsengiyumva congratulated Cambodia on its upcoming presidency of the Francophonie and extended best wishes for the successful hosting of the 20th Francophonie Summit.
He emphasized that the new agreements will enhance diplomatic collaboration and open doors for greater cooperation in trade, education, and cultural exchange.
This engagement reflects the shared commitment of Rwanda and Cambodia to deepen their partnership and promote stronger ties within the global Francophone community.
