In a statement shared publicly after their exchange, Sa’ar said he conveyed support “on behalf of the Government and people of Israel” during the week of remembrance, while discussions also covered evolving security dynamics in both regions.
He reiterated Israel’s firm position that Iran must not acquire nuclear weapons, emphasizing the need for the removal of enriched material and the cessation of uranium enrichment—preferably through diplomatic means. Sa’ar also extended an invitation to Nduhungirehe to visit Israel, signaling intent to deepen bilateral engagement.
“I expressed solidarity with Rwanda… We’ll continue strengthening our friendship with Rwanda.”
Responding, Nduhungirehe welcomed Israel’s message of solidarity during Kwibuka 32 and confirmed that both sides discussed the evolving security situation in their respective regions.
He expressed readiness to deepen ties through sustained engagement and reciprocal visits.
“Thank you… I look forward to deepening our relations through regular engagements and exchange of visits.”
The exchange underscores growing diplomatic ties between Kigali and Tel Aviv, anchored on shared security concerns and a commitment to strengthening cooperation through continued dialogue.
