The 2025 CAC Road Cycling African Championships kicked off with an exciting start, leaving three Rwandan women in three category, among the standout performers on the first day.
The Rwandan team had arrived two days earlier to prepare for the competitions, which officially began today, November 20.

The championships feature under-23, junior, and elite riders, both women and men, competing in a road race, a Team Time Trial Mixed Relay, and an individual time trial. Women’s events are shorter than men’s, and junior events are shorter than under-23 races.

Riders are selected by their national cycling federations and compete in their country’s colours. Winners earn the prestigious African Champion’s jersey, symbolizing excellence and African pride, which they can wear throughout the year.

Today’s events featured only the individual time trial which will not be the same for the following competing days.
