Kenya’s Chief of Defence Forces, General Charles Muriu Kahariri, is in Rwanda for a four-day official visit from November 4 to 7, 2025, aimed at deepening defence and security cooperation between the two countries.
On Tuesday, Gen Kahariri and his delegation visited the Ministry of Defence and the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Headquarters, where they were received by General MK Mubarakh, the Chief of Defence Staff of the RDF.
During the visit, Gen Kahariri also held discussions with Juvenal Marizamunda, Rwanda’s Minister of Defence.
The two sides discussed the longstanding military cooperation between Rwanda and Kenya, exploring new areas of partnership and exchanging views on various defence and security matters affecting the region.
Both countries maintain strong ties rooted in mutual respect, training exchanges, and regional security collaboration within frameworks such as the East African Community (EAC) and the African Union.
The visit underscores the continued commitment of Rwanda and Kenya to work together in promoting peace, stability, and capacity building for their respective defence forces and the wider region.
