Rwanda and Chad Sign Landmark Cooperation Agreement in N’Djamena

In a significant move to deepen diplomatic and economic ties, Rwanda and Chad have officially signed an agreement establishing a Joint Cooperation Commission, marking a new chapter in bilateral relations between the two nations.

The agreement was signed in N’Djamena by Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olivier Nduhungirehe, and his Chadian counterpart, Abdoulaye Sabre Fadoul.

The newly established commission, referred to as the Great Joint Cooperation Commission, is expected to serve as a structured platform for dialogue and collaboration across key sectors of mutual interest. These include trade, investment, security, education, and regional integration.

Officials from both sides emphasized that the agreement reflects a shared commitment to strengthening cooperation and fostering sustainable development. By institutionalizing regular consultations, the commission will enable Rwanda and Chad to align strategies, monitor progress on joint initiatives, and explore new partnership opportunities.

The signing ceremony, held in N’Djamena, underscores the growing diplomatic engagement between Kigali and N’Djamena, as both countries seek to expand their influence and collaboration within the African continent.

This latest development signals a renewed push by Rwanda to broaden its international partnerships, while Chad continues to enhance its regional and continental cooperation frameworks.
