Another measure is raising awareness among citizens, as well as promptly taking children to the hospital early to prevent complications, and adults who are affected must also receive treatment.

Dr. Tuganeyezu Oreste said, “Those who will be most affected are young children under the age of five, for the well-known reason that their bodies do not yet have enough strength to defend themselves. Others who may be impacted, even though we do not yet see it in the available statistics, are elderly men and women or people who already have illnesses that weaken the immune system.”
