The NBA has officially announced the team rosters and competition format for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, set to take place on Sunday, February 15, at 5:00 p.m. ET at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. The showcase will air across Africa on SuperSport, Showmax, ZAP TV, Canal+ and beIN Sports.
This year’s All-Star Game will introduce a round-robin mini-tournament, featuring three teams: USA Stars, USA Stripes, and Team World, reflecting the league’s growing international influence.
The two U.S. teams were selected based on age, with younger players assigned to USA Stars and veteran players to USA Stripes, while Team World is made up entirely of international stars.
Detroit Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff will coach USA Stars, while San Antonio Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson will lead USA Stripes. Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajaković of Serbia will take charge of Team World.
The tournament will consist of four 12-minute games, beginning with:
- Game 1: USA Stars vs. Team World
- Game 2: USA Stripes vs. winner of Game 1
- Game 3: USA Stripes vs. loser of Game 1
- Game 4: Championship game between the top two teams based on round-robin results
If all three teams finish with identical records, point differential will be used as the primary tiebreaker.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver also named Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard as an additional selection to the U.S. player pool, bringing the total number of U.S. All-Stars to the required 16 under the new format. Leonard, a 14-year NBA veteran, earns his seventh All-Star selection.
The revamped All-Star format is designed to increase competitiveness, highlight international talent, and deliver a faster-paced, fan-focused experience as the NBA celebrates its 75th All-Star Game.
