Victor Glover is set to become the first Black astronaut to take part in an extended mission on the International Space Station, a milestone widely seen as a step forward for diversity in space exploration.
Dwight, who was the first Black astronaut candidate in the United States in the 1960s, said Glover’s achievement reflects progress in making the aerospace sector more inclusive.
Glover, for his part, has emphasized teamwork and collaboration as critical to mission success, noting that space exploration depends on collective effort.
