Radisson Blu Hotel & Kigali Convention Centre (KCC) is marking 10 years of hospitality and excellence, celebrating a decade of helping position Rwanda as one of Africa’s leading destinations for business events, conferences, and tourism.
The anniversary celebrations brought together government officials, business partners, clients, and members of the media to reflect on the landmark venue’s achievements since opening in 2016, while outlining its vision for the future.
Over the past decade, the Kigali Convention Centre has become one of Africa’s leading venues for international conferences, exhibitions, and high-level meetings, playing a significant role in establishing Rwanda as a preferred destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism.
Speaking at the launch, Acting General Manager Nice Uwase said the milestone marks more than 10 years of operating a hotel and convention centre.
She said it reflects a shared journey of welcoming thousands of visitors from around the world, hosting major international events, and contributing to Rwanda’s growing reputation as a destination for business, investment, and tourism.
Sustainability also featured prominently during the celebrations. As part of its anniversary activities, the hotel launched a tree-planting initiative that aims to plant 100 trees, reinforcing its commitment to environmental conservation and responsible business practices.
The initiative forms part of the hotel’s broader sustainability strategy, which focuses on reducing its environmental footprint while supporting Rwanda’s green development agenda.
Community development was another key focus of the anniversary event.
Under its Responsible Business Programme, Radisson Blu Hotel & Kigali Convention Centre signed partnership agreements with AVEGA Agahozo, Hope Shines Rwanda, and SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda to expand initiatives supporting education, youth empowerment, and vulnerable communities.
The partnerships are expected to strengthen social impact programmes while creating more opportunities for collaboration between the private sector and community-based organizations.
Hotel management said the anniversary is not only an opportunity to celebrate the past ten years but also a chance to reaffirm its commitment to innovation, sustainability, exceptional guest experiences, and meaningful partnerships.
As Rwanda continues to invest in tourism and business events as key drivers of economic growth, the Radisson Blu Hotel & Kigali Convention Centre remains among the country’s flagship hospitality facilities, attracting thousands of international delegates and visitors each year while supporting jobs, investment, and the broader tourism sector.
